It feels like I just blinked and suddenly it was Christmas!
One thing that’s new to me this year is being my own boss and having to decide whether or not I can take holidays. I know I need to take time off or I’ll burn out but it’s so hard walking away for a week and knowing that nothing is happening with the business. But, I am going to put aside the guilt and finish up today and come back to work on January 3rd. Don’t worry though, there will still be blog posts. I’ve been working hard to make sure I’ve pre-scheduled the whole week’s worth of posts so I can relax and enjoy my champagne and turkey. I am so looking forward to the break, although for me ‘break’ means there are lots of projects to work on!
The Man’s mum’s family is of Austrian heritage so Christmas Eve is the big deal for them rather than the 25th. He also has cousins of Sri Lankan descent, so there’s often a wonderfully eclectic mix of Austrian biscuits, Sri Lankan curry and Australian seafood. In recent years my family hasn’t really had much of a Christmas tradition in terms of who we’ve celebrated with. Some have been just the immediate family, some with family friends, some with The Man’s family. This year we are heading to the in-laws, joined by my parents (minus bro this year); it will be great to have both sides of the family together.
What are your plans?
Merry Christmas from my home to yours. xxoo
