Apart from headboards, another creative reuse for old door that I kept coming across was wedding decor.

Aren’t they the perfect addition to a rustic or shabby style event?

  • We are using an old original door from our house we found in the shed when we moved in for our escort cards, twine strung across it and kraft card pegged on :)

    • Love it! I’m doing a similar thing for a photo shoot soon.

  • One of the weddings we are photographing in September is using doors as their ceremony backdrop!

    • Awesome, Brynn. I hope you’ll share the pics with us.

      • I absolutely will.

      • Yay!

  • I’ve been noticing this door trend so much lately! Not only for ceremony backgrounds, but all over the place at receptions, as well. Very versatile, it seems :)

PLEASE tell me how you made the doors stand on their own. My boss is letting me use his old doors and he was gong to build me some type of stand as well. He has now changed his mind on building the stand and I don’t know what to do!!! he said i can use the doors still but he doesn’t want the doors to be ruined which limits my options as to what to use to prop up the doors

    • These are not my projects, they are a roundup of examples I’ve found. You might be able to find more details if you click on the links to the original images though.

You can see some of them are simply leaning up against a wall so that wouldn’t damage the doors. The only way I can think to have them standing upright without attaching anything to the doors would be to have two sets of two L-brackets (as in last photo) and weld/bolt them to a base plate with a door-width gap in the middle for it to slot into. Hope that helps!
