After a very long flight involving very little sleep (herbal sleeping tablets – don’t do it!!) The Man and I arrived in San Francisco. It was great to see my brother Liam and sister-in-law Jane for the first time since their wedding in back in March. The four of us went out for some epic sushi to celebrate our first night there.

The next morning we visited my brother at his work, which may seem like an odd thing to do until I tell you that he works at Google (yep, I got the arts, he got the smarts).

Googleplex is so huge it’s more like a suburb than a workplace. We whizzed around on our brightly coloured Google bikes as he showed us the various buildings.

Some of the many themed rooms for working and socialising.

Keen Android users may be able to work out the significance of this tasty looking sculpture garden.

We then let him get back to work while we checked out nearby Downtown Mountain View.
As pretty as it was outside, our first stop was actually a feet and body Chinese massage. Oh my LORD was that ever blissful. We then continued our afternoon feeling like ragdolls.

This picture doesn’t really do it justice but every street was twinkling with Christmas lights.
So that’s our first day-and-a-bit covered. Next time will be San Francisco city itself.
