I mentioned Tasmanian illustrator Beth Emily in my Bowerbird Bazaar recap. Six months later I am still thinking about her sweet style so she clearly deserves to be the star of the first Obsess & Inspire post I’ve done in ages.
The combination of delicate black linework accented by looser washes of colour works beautifully to show the details of nature. You can find more information about her work, including her signature bird illustrations on Panelpop frames, on her website.

I can’t tell you the number of times I’ve come home from the shopping with another bottle of soy sauce or packet of cashews because I forgot about the spare one I already had in the depths of the pantry. Sadly I can’t fit this kind of setup in my pantry in an awkward corner base cabinet, but if you have a full-length pantry I reckon you’ll love these retrofitted drawers to solve all your forgotten food woes.

Hang a shower caddy on an unused spot behind a door or on the side of a bookcase to create extra space for those stationery odds and ends that always get lost in drawers.
A few months ago I told you how The Man knocked my socks off with a scavenger hunt for our first anniversary.
One of the elements was this awesome giant letter ‘a’ that he’d made by the woodwork teacher from the school where he worked. I’d been umming and aahing about where to put it – it would look so cool as a wall feature but, well, we’re running out of walls!
Normally when I talk about giving something a quick coat of paint, I really mean painstaking preparation and several coats of paint. Happily, in this case I was able to just slap on a single coat of paint as I liked being able to still see the grain.
My cheerful oversized typography now adds a playful touch to the back of my office door (sorry for the dodgy photo, the room is so small it’s hard to get a wider shot that still captures the whole letter). It makes me smile every time I look up at it from my desk.

The DIY photo booth at our wedding went down a treat with guests! Combined with the chalkboard speech bubbles, we captured so many funny moments.
I love this photo of my girls illustrating all the things a bridemaid should not do, from left to right we have Drunk Bridesmaid, Flirty Bridesmaid and Loud Bridesmaid.
